Omaha hi-lo equity calculator (Omaha 8)

A free Omaha hi-lo (Omaha 8) equity calculator: your four cards against random or known hands on any board, high and low shown. No sign-up needed.

Opponents' cards (optional)

Leave empty for a random hand.

Type cards as rank + suit: A K Q J T (or 10) 9 ... 2, then c d h s. Spaces don't matter.

Result (before the flop)

Your equity: 64.2% (±2.4 points)

Opponent 1 (random hand)35.9%20.5%31.2%45.3%9.3%

No low was possible in 45.3% of the deals (the high hand then wins the whole pot).

Estimate from 1,500 random deals of the unknown cards: the true equity is within ±2.4 percentage points of this number 95% of the time. The same cards always give the same estimate. Equity = your average share of the pot if every card is dealt and nobody folds. "Splits" = deals where you win part of the pot.

Solver tip (heads-up, limit betting)

You act first (small blind) before the flop, you on the button. PokerToast's trained solver plays: raise 98%, call 2%.

What each play is worth from here, in chips at 20/40, compared with folding (0): raise +37.1, call +35.8, fold +0.

What the tip assumes: heads-up limit betting; a typical pot of 1.5 small bets before this street (every earlier street bet once and called); your first decision on this street. The solver groups similar hands, so its advice is for your hand's group; it does not use dead cards or your opponent's cards. Free tips: 3 a day per address. For other betting lines, open the Calculator's Solver tab on PokerToast.

Example

A-2-3-K with two suits (ace-deuce of spades) against one random hand before the flop: 63.3% equity (estimate from 6,000 random deals, ±1.2 points). Open this example

Omaha 8 equity: the basics

In Omaha 8 every player gets four cards and must use exactly two of them with exactly three of the five board cards, for the high hand and (separately) for the low hand.

A low needs five different ranks 8 or lower. Because three must come from the board, nobody can make a low unless the board has at least three different cards 8 or lower. Then the best high hand wins the whole pot.

When the board pairs one of your low cards ("counterfeiting"), your low can lose much of its value. Try a board with an ace or a deuce on it to see it happen.

Leave an opponent's cards empty to deal them a random hand. A random hand is not what a real opponent plays, so treat the number as your equity against any four cards.
